Fee Structures
How to create and manage fee structures in YeneSchool, including tuition by grade level, additional fee types, and billing methods.
Fee Structures
A Fee Structure defines how much students are charged and how often. You can create separate fee structures for different grade levels, fee types (tuition, exam, library, etc.), and academic years.
Creating a Fee Structure
- From the Finance dashboard, click Add Fee Structure in the top-right corner.
- Select the Fee Type from the dropdown — for example, Tuition, Registration, Exam Fee, or Library.
- Enter the Amount in ETB.
- Choose a Billing Mode:
- Single — one fixed charge for the whole year.
- Per Term / Per Semester / Per Quarter — split across school periods.
- Monthly — 10 equal installments (one per Ethiopian school month).
- Set the Grade Scope:
- All Grades — applies to every student.
- Single Grade — pick one grade level.
- Grade Range — choose a From and To grade.
- If your school uses terms, select the Term the fee applies to (or leave blank for year-wide fees).
- Optionally add a Description for internal reference.
- Click Create Fee Structure to save.
!NOTE The Ethiopian school year has 10 months, not 12. A Monthly billing structure therefore generates 10 installments automatically — not 12.
!TIP Create separate fee structures for each grade band (e.g., Grade 1–4, Grade 5–8, Grade 9–12) if tuition rates differ across levels.
Billing Methods at a Glance

!WARNING Once a fee structure has payments recorded against it, you cannot delete it. Contact your system administrator if a correction is needed.
