School Transport & Bus Routes
The YeneSchool Transport Module enables school directors and transport coordinators to organize bus routes, manage vehicle fleets, assign drivers, track passenger rosters, and calculate transport fee billings accurately.
1. Creating Bus Routes & Stops
- Navigate to Director → Transport → Routes.
- Click + Add Route.
- Configure route parameters:
- Route Name / Number: (e.g., Route 4 — Bole / Sarbet / Mexico).
- Vehicle Assigned: Select bus (e.g., Toyota Coaster 32-Seater, Plate # 3-12345 AA).
- Driver & Attendant: Select assigned staff and emergency mobile phone numbers.
- Stops & Timing: Add ordered pickup stops with scheduled morning pickup times and afternoon drop-off times.
- Set the Monthly Transport Fee (ETB) associated with this route zone.
2. Assigning Students to Routes
- Open Transport → Passenger Rosters.
- Select the route and click + Assign Students.
- Filter by Grade and Section, select students living along the route corridor, and assign their specific designated pickup stop.
- The system automatically links the transport fee to the student's monthly finance billing account.
3. Driver Manifests & Emergency Alerts
- Printable Manifests: Generate daily attendance rosters for bus attendants to check students in as they board in the morning.
- SMS Delay Broadcasts: Send immediate SMS notifications to parents along a specific route if the bus experiences traffic delays or mechanical issues.
